A street festival celebrating the diverse cultures of the Lower East Side takes place next month. Hosted by the Museum at Eldridge Street, the 24th annual Egg Rolls, Egg Creams, and Empanadas Festival brings together Jewish, Chinese, and Puerto Rican heritage with a day of food, music, crafts, and more. The block party takes place on Sunday, June 15.

The festival takes over the block in front of the Museum at Eldridge Street, which is housed inside the historic Eldridge Street Synagogue. The event will include lion dancing from the New York Chinese Cultural Center, Afro-Caribbean music from La Manga, Yiddish tunes from The Mamales trio, and bomba music from the Bombazo Dance Company.

The event is free and open to the public, with food available for purchase. This year, enjoy egg rolls from Chinatown’s Wo Hop, egg creams from Brooklyn Seltzer Boys, and empanadas from Mia’s Cocina.

The family-friendly party will also offer face painting, arts and crafts, dominoes, and mahjong. A full schedule of events and activities will be released soon.

This year’s festival takes place on Sunday, June 15, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Eldridge Street between Canal and Division Streets.
